Marriage (Nikah): The Muslim Youth Foundation can facilitate and host nikah (marriage) services
Nikah is an Arabic term used for marriage, it means contract. The Quran specifically refers to marriage as “mithaqun ghalithun” which means a strong agreement.
“and they have taken a strong pledge from you?” (Quran 4:21)
The seriousness of this covenant becomes very obious when one finds the same term i.e. “mithaqun ghalithun” being used for the agreement between Allah and the prophet before granting them the responsibility of the prophethood. (Quran 33:7)
The MYF provides individuals who have the intention for marriage with information and advice about Nikah and the life they will be leading after nikah. The MYF will ensure you are aware of your responsibilities as a husband/wife.
And then will perform the Nikah with the Imaam present and assist you in completing this Nikah.
