Fasting six days of Shawwal after the obligatory fast of Ramadan is Sunnah Mustahab, not wajib. The important benefits of fasting six days of Shawwal is that is makes up for any shortfall in a person’s obligatory Ramadan fasts, because no one is free of shortcomings or sins that have a negative effect on his fasting.
It has been confirmed that Eid Al-Fitr will be on Friday 21st April 2023!
Myf Eid prayers will be:
1st Eid prayer 8:00am 2nd Eid prayer 10:30am
Fitrana is obligatory and must be paid before the Eid prayer, it is £5 per person.
We will have only one Jummah prayer at 1:15pm
Please arrive early to ensure you don’t miss out on the reward of praying in congregation on this blessed day of Eid Al-Fitr!
Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated:
’When the day of Eid al-Fitr [begins], the angels descend on earth, where they take their positions at access points of roads, calling out with a voice that is heard by the whole creation of Allah, except men and Jin, “O Ummah of Muhammad (saw)! Come out to your most Noble and Gracious Lord, who grants much, and pardons the major sins”.
When they (the Ummah) proceed to their places of prayer, Allah, Exalted is He, says to His angels, “O My angels! What is the reward of a worker when he has done his work?” So they (the angels) say, “Our Lord and Our Master! To receive his reward [for the work, in full]“.
So He [swt] says, “I call you to witness that, for their fasts [during Ramadan], and for their standing in prayer at night, I have made their reward My Pleasure, and my Forgiveness. Depart [from here], you are forgiven”’. [Lataif al-Ma’arif]
Fitrana is an obligatory donation made by every member of a household before Eid salah. This Ramadan, every member in your family needs to pay Fitrana in the amount of £5 per person to feed our impoverished brothers and sisters.
Please visit our office to make payment or you can pay on-line. When donating online always state whether it is Zakat, Sadaqah or Fitrana.
Abu Hurairah narrated that:
the Prophet said: “The best day that the sun has risen upon is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it, he was expelled from it. And the Hour will not be established except on Friday.”
