Assalamo Alikom Wrahmato Allah Wbrakatoh
On Saturday the 27th October in heart of City of Manchester, the Muslim Youth Foundation (MYF) opened its doors and welcomed people from all backgrounds and faiths & non faiths to participate in the annual Community Open Day between 12 to 6pm.
On the day, the MYF organised many activities which included some of the following:
- Free light refreshment table
- Muslim Cultural Clothing table
- Free Calligraphy design table
- Free Henna design table
- Free Face Painting and Children’s activity Table
- Free Try A Scarf table with free gift bags for visitors
- Free Information table with free gift bags for visitors
- Moroccan themed tent activity
- Islamic Exhibition in the lecture hall
- Free Guided Tour of the Mosque
The list above required detailed planning and organising and on the day we blessed with 30+ volunteers to support all the key projects in making this year’s Open Day successful.
Therefore, on behalf of the MYF Trustees and Management Team – we would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude towards Allah (SWT) for allowing us all the opportunity to serve Him and provide an opportunity for our guests to visit us observe and learn something about Islam.
To this end, on the day a brother and a sister decided to accept Islam of their own free will and determination after visiting and asking many questions. We ask Allah (SWT) to preserve and protect them and us ameen.
Jazak Allah khair to all the volunteers who helped out on the open day & to all the volunteers who attended the preparation meetings in the week before the open day.
In addition, the volunteers who helped set up for the open day on the day before the open day (Friday) . This help was critical for the success of the open day, Alhamdulillah. I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you / Jazak Allah Khair” to these volunteers as the open day could not have taken place without this magnificent & crucial help. Everybody worked very hard & a tremendous amount was achieved in just a couple of days, Alhamdulillah for them.
Also, in the background there are many silent brothers and sisters who make a big contribution but remain anonymous JazakAllah Khairan.
Finally, we ask Allah (SWT) to reward the volunteers with the best of both worlds but reserving the best reward for the day the volunteers meet Him – ameen.

The MYF New Muslims Group meeting is on Thursday 1st November 6:00pm – 8:00pm by Shiekh Imtiaz.
Our ongoing group meetings are friendly and open for everyone to attend. We discuss topics and also have a Q & A session.
Very beneficial for new muslims and all reverts.
Please make sure you attend this social/educational meeting and invite others as well.

Eid salah on Friday:
1st prayer – 8:00am
2nd prayer – 10:30am
Don’t forget takbeer after every fard salah on Arafah day and until Asr on the 13th.

Dua Astaghfar (Forgiveness) /دعاء أستغفر
Astaghfar means seeking forgiveness of Allah for the sins so far committed and turning repentant unto Allah.
Allah has created us weak and we are likely to make mistakes and transgress. At the same time Allah has allowed us to seek forgiveness. Forgiveness is very important in Islam.
